So, today is my 100th blog post, and I thought that this was a good opportunity to review what was the past 100 posts of the blog and pick my favourites. Here's my top 10.
10. Bugatti Type 57
To kick us off is my favourite of the Under the Hood series that I've done so far, on the Bugatti Type 57. Not only was it a good article to write but the car was one of the rarest I've ever seen. I'm hoping to be able to do more UTHs like this as time goes on.
Moving up another place, we get to an article that I still can't figure out how it got eight views as it was my second ever article, putting it in my top 15%. I'd say I was pretty close when I talked up some of the biggest names as one of the biggest favourites, the #4 Phoenix Audi, took the win convincingly. Not to mention, my smokie the #14 Audi took third. Not bad at all, shame everything has gone backwards from there.
This was a lot of fun! I'm hoping to do another couple of tier list articles if I can find material that is article-length (not book-length) and interesting. One option might be revisiting this as it will be quite different for this year due to some major movers and shakers across the grid (I'm expecting Jack le Brocq, for example, to jump up at least one tier, as his C was mainly due to poor management).
This was another good list to put together. Some of my choices are maybe controversial (911 4th vs F8 1st), I really liked this list. 2020 is even more exciting.
This makes the list because of the experience it gave me. It's the only car that I've been able to ride in while doing things for the blog. It certainly was as visceral as I described it. Even if it was just a replica, it's still very special to me.
This article is easily my top views after some promotion on the Porsche Club's behalf which I am very thankful to them for. The article was fun to write too and I was given some very professional images to use which really spiced the article up. Probably one of my most professional articles yet.
This was a very fun article to write! I was not sure at all who would win it and there were definitely some suprises, such as South Korea going home in the groups, a close game between Germany and Japan and a big run for Croatia. But in the end Germany just edged out England. I'm looking to do more experiments like this soon.
This was Friday's article and it was excellent to write and fun to develop. Obviously there were some suprises in the list, and ther probably will always be. Looking at the success of the feature, it'll definitely be back.
These two are grouped for obvious reasons. I tipped #888 from #17 and #9. I'd say I was pretty close, with the exception of Mostert (predicted 4th) finishing well down and Courtney who I predicted 16th ending up 3rd. I think I got a lot of things spot on, especially some assessments in the report card, and that's why it ranks so high. Looking at my 12 Hour predictions (even at only 9 hours in), I seem to have got everything wrong.
This is my favourite post of all time. It's relatively recent, but I fell like this was the post where I combined some good images with a really insightful and chunky body which seems to have been lacking in some articles. I really enjoy reading this article back over and I think it's my best work yet.
So that's my personal Top 10 articles that I've produced! Is there anything you'd put on here? Let me know in the comments!
Will be interesting to see whats covered in the next 100 articles... Good work.
Congratulations!!!
