Today I've listed all of the current V8 Supercars drivers in a tier maker! Where did I rate your favourite driver? Let me know below!

F (Not good enough so far):

Richie Stanaway

Richie is definitely a talented driver and he has surprised many by retiring last night from all driving. However, he's made a lot of mistakes on track and has had several offtrack incidents that have dented his reputation. However, he's not the worst driver who has been in contention for a 2020 seat (Take a bow, Jack Smith).

D (Average/First Season):

Fabian Coulthard

Fabian hasn't been good enough compared to Scott McLaughlin this year, in the best team, in the best car. The only explanations are that he's too slow, or that he's not being given similar equipment.

Macaulay Jones & Garry Jacobson

Well, both of these guys have the same rank for the same reason: it's their first season. They will definitely get better but as with everyone in their first season, they will learn and get better as they gain experience.

C (Average):

Jack le Brocq

Unlucky this season being in the worst car and being ostracised by Jonathon Webb during Gold Coast, Jack will improve in 2020. Particularily if he's going to Tickford. Because Webb drove the car more during Gold Coast and Truck Assist are sponsoring Lee Holdsworth, I think he's already signed a contract to drive the #55.

James Golding, Simona de Silvestro, Mark Winterbottom & Tim Slade

All of these guys have underperformed slightly this year for various reasons. However, they've all put in a massive effort and have all had highlights: Golding nearly winning Bathurst somehow (and his bowl cut!), Simona with a top 10 at Pukekohe and generally being quite competitive for most of the season, Frosty's pole at Tasmania and Tim Slade's podium in Race 32 at Newcastle, in possibly his final race.

James Courtney

Courtney has performed on expectation this season with excellent results such as a podium at Bathurst. I'm not convinced about his future move to Team Sydney however.

B (Above average):

Rick Kelly

He'll perform much better when out of the slow Nissan. He is a Supercars legend after all.

Scotty Pye, Todd Hazlewood and Nick Percat

These three Holden drivers have performed well so far this year. Pye's season highlights have been extremely good performances at Townsville, the Endure Cup and Newcastle where he finished just off the podium. Hazlewood has achieved some excellent results and some Shootout appearances being probably the biggest fish in a small pond this year. And Percat has performed well as the best of the rest of the Holdens.

Will Davison, Cam Waters and Chaz Mostert

While the Tickfords have had pace this year, they've all had some problems. Davison has suffered a few mechanical failures this year as well as being off the pace at several events. Chaz has been a bit too wasteful at several events, such as Bathurst where he hit Waters and Gold Coast where he totaled his car in quali. And Waters, in addition to the Bathurst debacle, was crashed into by the Kosteckis in Sandown and has the infamous accident with Scotty Mac on the formation lap at the AGP.

Jamie Whincup

Whincup hasn't been around Van Gisbergen in terms of the championship and seems to be winding down his career with a place on the Supercars board and part ownserhip of RBHRT. We may not see him much longer.

A (Good):

Lee Holdsworth

Lee found it difficult to adapt at first, but has often been competitive and was robbed of a race win (Or at least contending for one) twice in a row by the safety car or related incidents, at Pukekohe and Bathurst. However, Lee and his best mate Tom Randle eventually got an emotional podium at Sandown.

SVG & David Reynolds

Both of these drivers have flown the Holden flag at the front of the field at different sections of the championship. David has been rewarded with a 10 year contract whereas SVG, who already had a multi year deal, ended up 2nd in the championship battle due to Coulthard's poor form and Mostert's errors at the endurance races, as well as after a big battle with Jamie Whincup.

Scott McLaughlin

Despite a cheating cloud, what does need to be remembered is how much McLaughlin has dismantled even his teammate who would have the same equipment. He has deserved to win his championship.

S (AMAZING!!!!!):

Anton de Pasquale:

Anton is the best prospect in the championship at the moment. He's already been on the podium, and has often been in the fight with his far more experienced driver David Reynolds, as well as the RBHRT, Tickford and Shell cars excepting #17. He will win a championship one day.

Andre Heimgartner:

Andre has done an excellent job despite the utter incompetitiveness of the Nissans this year. His low championship standing is more down to bad luck at Bathurst and the Gold Coast rather than bad racing. Maybe I'm biased though...
