Two tuners have recently launched noteworthy new cars, so I thought I'd cover them. They are both relatively new cars, and they are both big car names, although not really big names for the tuning companies. Let's begin in Germany.

Germany is well known for tuners, such as Konig, Brabus, AMG, ABT, Novitec and Carlsson. Now, there could be a new name on the horizon. Manhart has launched a new version of the M850i, and it is outgunning the M8. It has 621 horsepowers, more than the M8 Competition. The torque figure, however, is significantly upped from 523Nm to 656Nm. The Manhart M850i also features H&R springs and 21" wheels, as well as carbon fibre exhaust tips, splitter and spoiler. It does need to be pointed out that the car is RWD only rather than the complex AWD system fitted to the M8., which could deter prospective buyers.

Meanwhile, there is the Land Rover Defender. It's an icon of cars, having been produced for 70 years but recently taken out of production. However, that doesn't stop the cult following, and the Overfinch of Defender tuners, East Coast Defenders, continue to make their name in the Land Rover tuning scene, with their latest creation, Project Ghost. It's been given the full East Coast treatment: Aston Martin grey, steel front bumper with winch and LEDs, LED light bar, steel side steps, Kahn wheels and roll cage. But the most noteworthy part of this car is the Corvette engine. Yes, it has a 6.2L V8 sourced from a Corvette. It puts out 430 horsepower from that engine, and it's just the definition of insanity.

So, that is the news regarding tuners recently. Please subscribe to my mailing list to keep getting the latest news delivered to your inbox!
