Ten Cars I'm looking forward to in 2020

While 2019 was super exciting in terms of new cars, 2020 could be even better! Here's ten key cars for 2020. Most of these have already been shown but won't debut until 2020.

10. Puritalia Berlinetta

The Puritalia is probably the most obscure car on the list. Powered by a Coyote V8, it is a modern coupe evolution of the AC Cobra, but the front end reminds me a lot more of the 378. Said V8 is twinned with an electric motor to produce 952 horsepower. Appears to be lairy based on those figures.

9. Tesla Model Y

One of the few cars here that is not officially revealed in production form, the Model Y is a key car for Tesla as it breaks into a genre that many cars are sold in- the medium SUV. The Model Y should look sort of like a cross between the 3 and X, and share powertrains with the similarly-sized 3.

8. Ford Mustang Mach-E

The Mustang Mac-E isn't popular with traditionalists but it is a good car based on all early indications. While only the more regular models are going to be sold in 2020, the car that is really worth looking out for is the high performance version in 2021.

7. Hispano-Suiza Carmen

We have seen what promises to be the production Carmen but there are serious doubts about whether the company has enough in it to make it to production status. What we do know is that it apparently has 1005 horsepower. That/ is genuinely exciting numbers if funding can be found for it.

6. McLaren Elva

It's pretty likely that 2020 will bring an as-yet unreleased Ultimate Series car, but it's confirmed to bring the Elva. I've already covered the release of the fastest car on earth without a windscreen ( https://djspeaks08.wixsite.com/mysite/post/supercars-news-from-italy-britain-and-japan ) but this car is very worthy of its spot on the list.

5. Tesla Roadster

The Tesla Roadster is a car with some ludicrous claims. Spotted pre-production models look the goods, but the car could both not deliver on its insane performance claims (2.1 seconds 0-60, top speed over 400kmh) or even be made in 2020, with the sale date dependent on the Model Y, it could bleed over into next year's edition of this list.

4. Bugatti Divo

The Divo is Bugatti's new track toy. For a start, it is eight seconds faster than the Chiron around Nardo. Eight. Due to the aerodynamics, it is slower in a straight line than the Chiron but it is much more special, with only 40 units being made. The Divo has been revealed for quite a while now but deliveries begin in early 2020.

3. Chevrolet Corvette C8

This is a massive surprise to be this low, but the top two are worth it. The C8 is an excellent car based on all reports, taking Ferrari performance to a Boxster S price, sort of like the Nissan GTR. The Corvette could potentially become a real force next year with this new model, and most excitingly for us Australians it is factory RHD, so will be sold from the showroom floor for the first time.

2. Ferrari SF90 Stradale

The SF90 Stradale is the spiritual successor to the LaFerrari. It already looks better than the other SF90, with (surprise, surprise for this list) 986 horsepower (the fifth car on the list with over 900), and a new transmission. The SF90 Stradale is on paper, an excellent car. It will also be the first Ferrari since the F50 to not have an 'XX' racing version, as the track car will be named Assetto Fiorano.

1. Pininfarine Battista

Technically, this car has already been produced but no deliveries have occurred that I'm aware of, so it qualifies. It's an electric hypercar that will compete with the SF90, the McLaren BP23 SPeedtail, and the entrants of the LMP Hypercar class. All signs look promising for this car.
