Yes, you read the title correctly. While New Zealand is not totally unexpected (given the Hulme F1), Slovenia was totally out of the blue. And the best part? The car they've developed is similar to the Rimac from their neighbours Croatia! Let's begin in New Zealand though.

The Lotus T125, back in 2010, was a track-day special F1 car, most famous for Jeremy Clarkson's review, and his not fitting into it. However, that project ran out of funds. Now, though, a company in NZ called Rodin has bought the project rights and is selling it as the Rodin Fzed. It's powered by a 3.8L Cosworth V8, and it weighs 600kg, so it has a power to weight ratio of over 1000bhp. And it comes with the same support package as the T125 would have, which makes it a very good buy as opposed to a used GP2 or F1 car. It costs 615000 dollars, just in case anyone with that much money is reading this.

Then onto the Balkan states. Slovenia has now officially built a car. It's called the Tushek TS900H Apex and it has a 4.2L V8 with 937 horsepower, as well as two electric motors. It has Brembo brakes, Pirelli tyres and weighs just 1410kg. The performance figures are also very interesting- top speed 380kmh, 0-60mph in 2.5 seconds, and 31 miles on electric power alone. So, this car is very interesting. But will it beat the Rimac? I'm uncertain, given that the 0-60 is less.
