The development of the MG B was begun in 1958, and it was released in 1962, but it's more naturally associated with the later 60s. It was produced all the way from then to 1980, and then re-emerged in 1992 with some modifications as the RV8. This example is a 1977 example, with the US-spec rubber crash bumpers.

All MGBs (unless they have been swapped or are the V8 version) have the 1.8L B-series engine, which produces 95 horsepower. That may not sound like much but in a car this light, it is plenty to cause a lot of fun. The MGB was not just available as a roadster but also a coupe, the hatch-backed GT. Indeed, 524000 were made, which showed its appeal not just in Britain but in the USA and Australia as well.

Nowadays, MG are under Chinese ownership, and is restricted to the MG3 hatch, MG6 sedan and two SUVs for the moment. Hopefully they can become the sports car masters they once were.
