One of the most iconic muscle cars of the sixties, ranking up with the Challenger, Charger and Mustang, is the Chevrolet Camaro. Even though the original only lasted three years, it's a brilliant car and is world-renowned. There were three main equipment packages: RS (a visual package), SS (a 350 or 396 ci engine with other performance parts) or Z28 (a TRans-Am spec car). This car is a RS.

It's got a big American V8 making a ton of horsepower (275, to be exact for this version), which was the hallmark of the muscle cars of the era which were built for straights not for corners. It was available as a convertible or coupe, while this is obviously a coupe. The purpose of all of the different variations was market saturation and, considering there are still Camaros being sold today, I'd say it achieved its purpose.

The Camaro has achieved worldwide fame due to roles in the movie Fast and Furious, it's overall cool look, and being the poster boy of the GM fanboys compared to the Mustang for Ford guys. But if you look deeper, the Camaro is one of the few cars that can be seen as being unkillable, having been a status symbol, muscle car, blobby mess, and now a retro-inspired and versatile V8 sports car. It's got every right to continue to succeed in the future.
