When the initial release of the 458 happened in 2010, it was acclaimed as one of the best Ferraris of the modern era, and the driving dynamic was matched by it's looks. The Spider versions of performance cars are known to look even better in many cases and this was one of them when it was released in 2011. It's mechanical (4.5L NA V8 producing 562hp and getting 0-60 in 3.4 seconds) features are unchanged but it gained a whole new element of style.

The roof system was extremely fast, only taking 14 seconds, however you can only operate it while stopped, as was publicised by the Top Gear episode in Spain when this was tested against the Audi R8 Spyder and McLaren 12C Spyder. The only challenge it won was the timed lap challenge, and it was only shared due to protests from the other hosts as to their cars' speed. However, the presenters agreed unanimously they wanted the Ferrari the most despite admiring the McLaren more and the Audi winning the challenges.

The car has featured in many different music videos, TV series and movies. It's featured in music videos involving Iggy Azalea, Pitbull, Shaq O'Neal and Migos; in famous TV series NCIS, Magnum PI and Castle; and in the movie The Spy who Dumped Me. As you can see, the movie makers, Top Gear presenters and car bloggers all agree: the 458 Spider is one of the most stylish cars of its generation.
Simply.... nice. love this car
As a non-car enthusiast, and, as one who declares that this car is not their cup of tea (preferring the more vintage), your article is a great read. Short, interesting and heaps of visual.
