My Direction for the Future

So, this blog isn't my exactly regular post. Instead, I'd like to discuss more about the future direction of the blog today. We've been going for about six months now, and have 83 posts (today is #84). The blog will hit some big milestones in 2020, and so will some series. I'm going to let you know about what I'm planning today, as well as some other projects I'm doing. Let's begin with the blog's big milestones next year: one year of existance and 100 posts.

I'm thinking of doing two separate things for these. I'm considering doing a special edition of the Under The Hood car profile series for the 100th post, with one of the best spots I've ever had. I don't have the full array of pics for it but I'm confident I can get what I need. The other milestone, the 1st anniversary, I am considering doing a co-authored post, potentially about V8 Supercars as I have a few friends who know a bit about that, to mark the occasion. However, the most important goal for next year's time with the blog is to continue to produce top quality content. It mightn't be quite as frequent over the next couple of years due to school commitments, but whatever free time I can find to work on the blog you can be assured I'll be making this place the best I can make it.

This picture comes from my most-viewed article of 2019.

When it comes to series content, I'll definitely be continuing with my three biggest features: the Under The Hood car profile series (even if it doesn't really go by that name anymore); the Behind the Wheel interviews and the Saturday Top Tens. As for new content, I'll be probably doing some stuff about two new exciting projects. One is linked (and discussed) below, the other is that I turn driving age in May. So I'll likely have a car soon that I can write blogs about as well. I don't know anything about what they will look like but I know that either I'll be able to come up with something special or it will likely be discussed rarely.

In terms of other projects, I have some neat ones that I've started in 2019 or will start in 2020. Obviously I'm linked to this blog on Instagram @_ignitionblog and on Reddit u/Ignition__Blog, but I also have another IG account, @bestof_supercarsbants, which is befinitely something that you guys should check out. Some features I'm doing there this year likely include being part of a tipping challenge, and a drivers' Birthday Calendar, so if you want to see those, drop on by! My other big project, and this one will likely make it ot the blog in the form of Season Reviews, is a fantasy racing league on Stunod Racing. That's another site you should check out- the community are excellent there and love the same sorts of stuff that I do and you probably do as well. I'd summarise it but the description I wrote for Stunod is quite hard to summarise, so I'll link my thread there. It can be found at http://stunodracing.net/index.php?threads/2020-ascc.8462/ and I'll provide detailed descriptions of each race there.

Finally, I just wanted to thank everyone who has read an article of mine this year. Obviously my best performing article this year is the Behind The Wheel with Wagner Higgins that gained some fame/infame in the PCQ community, and second is also a BTW, but behind that is an article on the MGB from late November, so it's good to see the community is gaining some traction. Here's to a bigger and better 2020 for everyone!
